Principal Authors
Stephen T. Muench
Steve is a graduate student in the University of Washington's department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research interests include
pavement design, construction and maintenance;
construction materials, quality control; quality assurance; and transportation
design as well as education
and teaching. Steve is a licensed professional engineer in Washington
State and received his MSCE from the University of Washington in 1998, and his
BSCE from the University of Washington in 1990.
Joe P. Mahoney
Joe is a Professor in the University of Washington's Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering. He is currently the area leader for the
transportation and construction program. His primary focus areas include
transportation and construction while his specific focus is on pavements
including highway and airfield, pavement materials, and pavement management
systems.
Contributors
George White
George is a Research Engineer in the University of Washington's Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering. His current research involves HMA View, a real-time web-based
database to monitor hot mix asphalt projects throughout their life cycle; as well
as MICA, a robust cost-benefit analysis tool for use at the State Legislature
level.
J.T. Mahoney
J.T. is a student at Roosevelt High
School in Seattle. He assisted in the Macromedia Flash programming for
the WAPA member map in the Welcome section.

The WAPA Asphalt Pavement Guide was made with Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and Macromedia Flash
MX.

Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Image Composer, Search Maker Pro 2.1 and Ulead VideoStudio 4.0 SE.
