  • The Asphalt Institute
    A US-based association of international petroleum asphalt producers, manufacturers and affiliated businesses.  The Asphalt Institute (AI) promotes the use, benefits and quality performance of petroleum asphalt, through environmental, marketing, research, engineering and technical development, and through the resolution of issues affecting the industry.
  • Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA)
    A coalition of the Asphalt Institute, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, and the State Asphalt Pavement Associations. Its mission is to further the use and quality of Hot Mix Asphalt pavements through research, technology transfer, engineering, education and innovation.
  • American Highway Users Alliance.  Dedicated to promoting and defending the role of motor vehicle transportation in providing U.S. mobility, economic growth, productivity improvements, defense, safety and individual freedom of choice.

Government Associations

  • Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
    The FHWA is a part of the Department of Transportation and is headquartered in Washington, D.C., with field offices across the United States. Its vision is to "create the best transportation system in the world for the American people through proactive leadership, innovation, and excellence in service. We also provide expertise, resources, and information to continually improve the quality of our nation's highway system and its intermodal connections."
  • Transportation Research Board (TRB)
    A unit of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. The Board's mission is to promote innovation and progress in transportation by stimulating and conducting research, facilitating the dissemination of information, and encouraging the implementation of research results.
  • National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP)
    Administered by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and sponsored by the member departments (i.e., individual state departments of transportation) of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) was created in 1962 as a means to conduct research in acute problem areas that affect highway planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance nationwide.
